Carl Billingsley - Light Sieve
Billingsley says that being raised as an “Army Brat” and
being able to travel where his father was stationed was what influenced his
art. At 9 years old the family was in Germany where he found many art museums
to explore, but it was sculpture that awed and inspired him.
“I feel that an artist should be able to communicate with their work even though they don’t share the same language, culture, time or place as the audience.” Billingsley has been shown all over the world and has won numerous awards, including, in 2013, the Andrea Stretton Memorial Invitational Award at Sculpture by the Sea-Bonid in Sydney, Autralia. Light Sieve was installed in New Hope, PA in 2009. www.billingsleyatelier.com |
